Benefit at Painting with a Twist was a lot of fun and a great success!

December 5, 2015 / Mary Ross / Updates

I am still basking in the glow of a successful benefit held at Painting with a Twist (PWAT) in Westport, CT.

Thanks to all who attended and to Janice and Vernice at PWAT!

Only God knows what got into me when I came up with the idea to have a painting party. I am the sort that was marginally good at finger painting as a child, if you know what I mean. But, what a good idea, if I say so myself! I came home with a better than expected image of Sunflower on Red, relaxed and happy from a fun night out with great people!

I was fortunate enough to find PWAT in Westport which dedicates one night a month to hosting a nonprofit fund raising event, donating 50% of the proceeds to the charity. Janice could not have been more gracious and welcoming and Vernice, our instructor, was talented, patient and FUN! She made all of us relax as we took our brushes to the canvas. We all want to go back.

Thanks, too, to the people who could not come, but supported us anyway! Your support will enable us to continue and expand upon projects in Senegal, Ecuador, The Gambia and elsewhere, connecting US children with their peers abroad.

Humanity Now! and Happy Holidays to all!
